Octopus vs. Australian: “Disorder on the Court”
“Disorder on the Court!” is the capsule collection born of the collab between Octopus Brand and Australian, two Italian and Made in Italy brands. The first does streetwear: started in 2006 in Milan, it is known for the iconic tentacles that decorate its clothing. The second does sportswear: specializing in tennis, its roots go back to 1956 and its logo is the famous kangaroo. The collection is made up of 3 different kits – each composed of a Tracksuit, Trackpants, Polo Shirt, T-Shirt, Shorts and Socks – that will be released in 3 separate drops from May 2019 onwards. The entire collection will be presented at the 2019 Italian Open at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy’s most important tennis competition. Check out each look created by the two brands in Edward Scheller’s photos, taken at the Circolo Bonacossa in Milan, of two young up-and-coming Italian tennis players: Giulio Perego and Filippo Speziali.
Some of the photos have been illustrated by Marcello Mosca, who created the disorder monsters that give the collection its name: “Disorder on the Court!” The first kit, now available from the Octopus Brand and Australian. Online Stores and at the Foro Italico during the Italian Open, is the “Camo White”: iconic Octopus Brand camo in a special fade version that boasts orange, blue, purple and yellow. The second kit, “Heritage”, brings back an Australian design from the ‘80s on a strictly white background, layered over with the classic Octopus Brand tentacles. This kit will be available from December, making it the perfect Christmas pack. The third kit, “Camo Black”, is the black variant of the first kit, which shows off the orange, blue, purple and yellow even more. Available from mid-2020. “Camo White” is a limited edition kit only available from the brands’ online stores and at the Italian Open. The other kits will also be available in a selection of special sports and tennis stores all over Italy and some selected stores in Europe. The clothes were designed by Stefano Mariani, Octopus Brand designer, and produced in Italy by Australian.
