History in the making

Australian was born in 1956, where Italian manufacturing tradition meets a passion for tennis. From the very beginning, the brand has interpreted the sport as an expression of character, style and identity, creating garments that reflect the elegance and functionality of Made in Italy design.

The kangaroo: the symbol of a winning heritage
In the 1950s, Australian tennis players dominated the international scene, embodying an ideal of the game defined by technique, elegance and discipline. It was an era that left a lasting mark on the history of the sport and helped shape its imagery.

From this heritage, the name Australian was born — a tribute to a style able to stand the test of time and renew itself without ever losing its identity.
The kangaroo embodies this spirit: a universal symbol of energy, momentum and determination. More than a logo, it is a distinctive and recognisable emblem that has accompanied the brand on courts around the world.
From its earliest sketch to its contemporary versions, the kangaroo has spanned more than seventy years of history, accompanying every transformation of the brand.

Where Australian style begins
More than 80% of our collections are made in Italy, between our Milan facility and a selected network of excellence partners across Lombardy.
We work with specialised workshops where technical expertise, manufacturing know-how and artisanal care come together to bring each garment to life. Rigorous controls are applied at every stage of the production process to ensure quality, precision and the highest standards.

Responsibility in every choice
For us, sustainability means acting responsibly, every day.
Durability is our first concrete commitment: we create garments designed to stand the test of time, thanks to quality materials and solid construction. We recover surplus stock, reintegrating it into new productions or enhancing it through dedicated projects, and we repair garments in our in-house tailoring workshop to extend their life cycle.
Lastly, we donate unsold products to charitable organisations, turning excess into a resource and supporting an ethical and responsible approach to our work.

Designed to last
Every garment is born from a rigorous design process, grounded in technical expertise, manufacturing experience and deep attention to detail.
From yarn selection to pattern development, every stage is followed with precision by a team of 35 specialists — including designers, pattern makers, product technicians and quality control experts. Finishes, stitching, reinforcements and internal constructions are designed and checked to ensure quality, durability and complete freedom of movement.
